Susan Bellan is an investigator with ADR Chambers Banking Ombuds Office, a Roster Mediator – Toronto with the Attorney General’s Ontario Mandatory Mediation Program and mediates a wide range of civil and commercial disputes in her private mediation practice.She has worked as a mediator for the Financial Services Commission of Ontario and ADR Chambers, mediating over 1600 statutory accident benefit cases for Ontario automobile insurance disputes. Susan is also an experienced entrepreneur, having founded and managed a Toronto import – retail business for more than thirty years. She speaks French and has worked and travelled extensively in Asia, Africa and Central America. Prior to this, Susan was an economic consultant advising the Canadian government and international non-governmental organizations such as the World Bank and Commonwealth Secretariat. From 1992 to 1995, she was Chair of the Banking Issues Committee for the Canadian Organization of Small Business and has advised the Canadian and Ontario governments on banking.
Susan has a B.A. (Political Science) from the University of Manitoba and a B.A. (Economics) from McGill University. She completed Certificates in Alternative Dispute Resolution and Advanced Mediation at York University.
